Start Of Season in a New World

I never imagined for one minuet that anything could put a stop to fishing but the last couple of years has been historical. Fishing put on hold for a year due to a deadly virus outbreak and then limited to only local waters due to travel restrictions I can honestly say its been a testing time for everyone including anglers.

It was great to see that fishing was eventually recognised as a form of exercise and we could continue to get out on the bank chasing the chunks once again. Unfortunately my season start had been delayed due to a damaged nerve down the left side of my body but thankfully Club FAW members kept me busy with thier catch reports as they went out having thier own adventures.

Club FAW members Scott and Bobby Whiting always manage to grab a few sessions on our local but also caught some stunning carp from Cefn Mably Lakes including a new personal best this last year. Also taking on Cefn Mably was club adimn Joel Matthews who also managed a new PB mirror carp from the lodge lake.

This winter we saw new members Callum Clover and Danny Curtis literally empty Pentwyn Lake as they were continuously sending in big catch reports from the venue along with some lovely photos. Danny decided on taking on a new water this year up in Caerphilly and it wasn't long before he was hauling some dark old warriors from the castle moat.  Callum has set himself his own personal challenge of catching a certain amount of carp in one season and he is certainly giving it a good go, let's see how many he can get in the end....

It's been a strange start to the season as we slowly recover from the viral outbreak but its great to see people slowly getting back to normal and the banks filing up with keen anglers. The carp seemed to respond well to the short break and when we returned to the bank alarms were screaming and rods were bending. As long as things stay on track I can see its going to be a good season this year.

Due to restrictions we haven't been able to organise any social get together for the members but I think it's advisable to wait until we get the all clear. Until then we can all concentrate on getting out on the bank and having our own adventures as that's what it's all about.

Fishing Adventures Wales,

Fishing isn't just a catch report,

it's an Adventure!
